Our last day in Positani unfortunately, but we must move on. We went on another private boat tour, this time we went from Positani to Amalfi along the coast. Just incredible. The day started out warm and sunny but by the time we were on our way it had clouded over and was a bit cool. But not to be deterred we came across a beautiful limestone cave where we all had a swim, brisk one at that.
So we all now how swam in the beautiful, if not chilly, Medderterranian Sea.
Little limestone caves that open right up when you go in.
The coastline is dotted with these fortresses which were built to fight off the Turkish pirates.
We then followed the coast to Amalfi where we offloaded and had some coffee and cake, quick look around and then back to the boat for the trip back. This coastline is absolutely stunning. Fortresses, little fishing villages, grottos and to top it off we went past Sophia Loren's old place, why she sold here and went onto America has got me buggered.
Little fishing village I could easily make home.
We then packed up, booked a lift through the mayor of Positano and headed for Naples where we caught an overnight ferry to Sicily. Felt a bit uncomfortable in Naples but we survived and our now in Sicily making our way to Joanna's families place for the next week or so. We have hired a car as the driving here in Sicily is not as bad as on the mainland, the roads are a little bit wider and with Greg driving the first day we got through without a scratch on the brand new Citreon. We are staying overnight in an old castle, unreal, in Taormina. Another gorgeous coastline.
